Day 53, October 3. We took a 25-hour sleeper bus from Hotan to Urumuqi today, crossing the entire Taklakman desert. It was really beautiful and there were hundreds of semi-wild camels alonside the road. I took this photo of some of our many admirers at a rest stop.
